BT-30C Technical FAQ

Hardware

The BT-30C is a Smart Glass designed to display content from existing devices.
Ex) Android smart phones, windows PC, etc.

  • Any device with Android OS version 8.0 or later which has a USB type-C connector.
  • Windows 10 PC which support USB type-C.
    note:USB type-C must be compatible with Display Port Alternate mode
    USB type-C must be compatible with power delivery system 5V/900mA.

Epson cannot guarantee operation by optional I/O adapters or HUB switches.

The following interface types are supported:
Image input : USB Type-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode
Audio input : You can use the earphone jack in the remote control box.

The BT-30C screen resolution is HD (1280 × 720 pixel)

HDCP :Supported

Accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass sensors are included in the headset.

It depends on the application software on the connected device. To support this feature the application software should be developed using the Windows API from Microsoft or MOVERIO SDK which Epson provide on this site.

No. The BT-30C doesn't include a camera system.

At present, we do not have the firmware update schedule for the BT-30C. When available Firmware update information will be posted to this site.

Development

You can develop apps using the Windows standard API. The recommended development environment is Visual Studio.

Unique functions

Yes, it support side-by-side 3D format which contains the left and right side images in one frame.
The Utility application for Moverio "MOVERIO Link" allows you to switch easily from 2D to 3D.
However, some Android devices may not support the MOVERIO Link application. Please check the device list on the Google Play MOVERIO Link page.
For Windows devices, you should develop the application software for 3D.

The background should be set to black (RGB intensity should be zero).

The material of the glass part of BT-30C (light guide plate) is plastic (cycle olefin polymer (COP) resin) and not glass.

Yes. However, phone calls may be audible from the smart device even if earphones are connected.
